Trappers Cabin - Rental on the Cowichan River

The Cowichan River rushing by as you sleep. Birds in the trees above a salmon spawning creek surrounded by lush green foliage. Step out onto the covered deck and light yourself a fire. Sip your morning coffee and prepare for a challenging day of Fly fishing. Sound inviting?

This is a "TRAPPERS” Cabin - very rustic and not too many amenities but very cozy, peaceful and private.

Located on private property outside of Lake Cowichan, on Vancouver Island, BC. You are literally feet from the Cowichan river and just steps away to fish and hunt or hike and mountain bike on the Trans Canada Trail. How much easier could it get? It’s easy to ‘get back to nature’ here.

Some things to know:

Rates are basic as well - $50 per night – that’s it! There is no running water but the river is only 12 ft. away. We supply a 5 gal. container of water for dishes etc. You should bring your own drinking water. There are tables and chairs inside and out.

There is power connection but you should bring what you would take camping. There are two twin bunks above with foam or air bed. Wood stove inside the cabin as well as outside on a large covered deck. Sorry there’s no flush toilet, however the outdoor facility is brand new and very clean.

This cabin is presented as a quiet place to ' get away'... therefore it is adult orientated. We also ask that there be no partying. Due to the numerous problems with animals, we ask that you don't bring yours.

Swimming in the Cowichan River is very nice but you should have runners or water shoes as the bottom at this section has bigger rock and gravel.

We are very relaxed with booking so far but have been very busy with it as well. So far we have no particular check in / check out but each week or day may vary.
